Relevant Expertise for the project:
FAGOR ARRASATE has deep knowledge of several technologies used in the construction of mechanical presses due to the diversity of products and applications such as physics of elastic-plastic deformation, precision engineering, digital electronics, control electronics and servo control, computer simulation, hydraulic servo- hydraulic and hydro-pneumatic or engine technology. A common feature these businesses is the ability to integrate all these technologies. On the other side, forming facilities have a high level of automation and sensing so FAGOR ARRASATE has extensive experience in collecting values of critical parameters from processes and machines. Brake-clutch wear level, effort level on the press structure gathered in columns or oil temperature level in caps are examples of these catches. Also, with autonomous acquisition equipment, periodically and when a problem arises in an installation, stress measurements are made on sensitive elements of the structure, parallelism is measured with LVDTs, carriage speeds with accelerometers, etc. Finally, FAGOR ARRASATE also has expertise to create computational algorithms which simulate several kinds of behaviours. A remarkable example is the last algorithm developed to optimise the path of part transfer elements in a transfer press.
Role in the project:
The main work that will be performed by FAGOR ARRASATE in MANTIS project will be to propose and lead a total current and real use case from the point of view of component manufacturers in the automotive sector. FAGOR ARRASATE will provide knowledge in the design, manufacture and maintenance of forming installations and maintenance management of countless multi-client and multi-location installations. Therefore, FAGOR ARRASATE will lead the Press Machine Maintenance use-case where a real use case of his business will be defined, implemented and validated. FAGOR ARRASATE will provide knowledge in current systems or methods of maintenance management for metalforming installations as well as machine data acquisition systems.
